USCIS API Tracker: Get Your Case Data in 3 Steps

my.uscis.gov keeps a detailed record of your case: every event code, notice and update time. It is hidden behind your sign-in, as raw JSON. Build a one-click bookmark below to pull that data into CaseTicker and read it as a plain-English timeline. Nothing is uploaded, and we never ask for your USCIS password.

Open my.uscis.gov in this browser and sign in to your USCIS account as usual. Keep that tab open.

Up to 10 receipt numbers, separated by spaces, commas or new lines.

  3. Drag the Button and Click It on my.uscis.gov

Drag Get My Case Data to your bookmarks bar. Show the bar with Ctrl+Shift+B (Cmd+Shift+B on a Mac). Then go to your my.uscis.gov tab and click the bookmark: CaseTicker opens in a new tab with your result.

If the Button Doesn't Work

Sometimes my.uscis.gov blocks the first button, or asks you to sign in again. Use the case data page instead:

  1. Stay signed in at my.uscis.gov.
  2. Open your case data page:https://my.uscis.gov/account/case-service/api/cases/<your receipt number> (enter it in step 2 to get the link)
  3. The page shows your case as text. Click the Get My Case Data (Mode B) bookmark there, or select everything (Ctrl+A or Cmd+A), copy it (Ctrl+C or Cmd+C) and paste it into the box on the CaseTicker home page.

What Is the my.uscis.gov Case API?

When you open a case in your USCIS online account, the page asks my.uscis.gov for that case as JSON: form type, submission date, every event code with its timestamps, and your notices. It holds more detail than the status sentence on the public case status page, but it is written for computers, not people.

It only works for cases filed online (receipt numbers starting with IOE), and only for cases linked to the account you are signed in with. There is no request that lists all your cases, which is why we ask for your receipt numbers.

Why no password? The bookmark runs in the my.uscis.gov tab where you are already signed in, so it can read your case the same way the USCIS page does. CaseTicker never sees your sign-in and has no access to your account.

Privacy: your case data goes from my.uscis.gov to CaseTicker inside your browser and is read there. It is not uploaded to our servers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does USCIS have a case status API I can use?

USCIS has not published one for applicants. When you are signed in, my.uscis.gov loads your case from an internal case API at /account/case-service/api/cases/<receipt number>. It only answers for cases linked to your own signed-in account, so only your browser can read it. CaseTicker helps your browser read that data and explain it.

Why doesn't CaseTicker ask for my USCIS password?

Because it never needs it. The button runs inside your own my.uscis.gov tab, where you are already signed in, and passes the case data straight to CaseTicker in your browser. Never give your USCIS password to any tracker.

Which cases does this work for?

Cases filed online, whose receipt numbers start with IOE. Paper-filed cases (such as MSC, EAC, WAC, LIN, SRC or NBC receipts) usually do not have this detailed case data, even when they are linked to your account.

Is my receipt number sent anywhere?

No. The receipt numbers you enter are built into the bookmark on this page, inside your browser. The case data travels from my.uscis.gov to CaseTicker in the address bar fragment (after #), which browsers do not send to servers, and it is read on your device.
