Terms of Service

Last updated:

These terms apply when you use CaseTicker (caseticker.com). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What the service is

CaseTicker is an informational tool. It reads the case data you provide from your own USCIS online account and explains it in plain English.

CaseTicker is not legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship. We are not a law firm and cannot represent you.

CaseTicker is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) or the Department of Homeland Security.

No promise of accuracy

USCIS does not publicly document most of the event codes it uses. Our explanations come from public code lists and community reports and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong.

We give no guarantee that any explanation, typical wait or next step is accurate or applies to your case. Your notices from USCIS are the only authoritative source.

The service is provided "as is" and may be unavailable at times.

Your responsibilities

  • Use the tool only with case data you are entitled to view.
  • Keep your own records and copies of your USCIS notices.
  • Track your own deadlines, such as responses to a Request for Evidence, and do not rely on the tool to remind you.
  • Do not misuse the site, for example by trying to break it, overload it or access other people’s data.

Paid plans and billing

Paid plans are not on sale yet. The parts of this page about paid plans apply once they launch, and we will update this page if anything changes before then.

Paid plans are billed through PayPal. One-time purchases are charged once. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The price and billing period are shown before you pay.

Alerts are sync-based: CaseTicker compares your case when you sync it from your USCIS account (for example with the bookmarklet) and tells you what changed. CaseTicker does not monitor USCIS automatically and does not log in to USCIS for you.

Refunds follow the Refund Policy.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, CaseTicker is not liable for decisions you make based on the site, for missed deadlines, or for indirect or consequential losses. If we are liable for anything, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the site will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, unless the law of the place where you live requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We change the "Last updated" date when we do, and the new terms apply from that date.
