Not legal advice
CaseTicker explains case data in plain English for general information only. It is not legal advice. CaseTicker is not a law firm, and no attorney-client relationship is created by using it.
Not affiliated with USCIS
CaseTicker is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) or any government agency.
Code meanings may be wrong
USCIS does not publish what most of its case event codes mean. Each meaning we show carries a label so you know how much to trust it:
- Published definition: the meaning matches a public USCIS or NIEM code list. These lists are not official explanations of your case, and USCIS may use a code differently in practice.
- Community reading: the meaning comes from consistent reports by other applicants and case trackers. It is a common interpretation, not a confirmed fact.
- Meaning not confirmed: reports disagree or are too few. Treat it as a guess.
No prediction of outcomes
CaseTicker does not predict whether your case will be approved or when a decision will come. Typical wait times are reference ranges from public data, not a prediction for your case, and there is no guarantee your case will follow them.
Only USCIS decides your case. Your notices from USCIS, and your USCIS online account, are the authoritative record.
